What does Mothers Union mean to you?
This is the question I asked the Chard members. Here are the responses:
“I feel it is important to be part of the Mothers Union to uphold the aims that Mary Sumner had to promote the role of mothering in family life and promote the welfare of families. I value the meetings for the fellowship with other members.”
“Mothers Union is very important to me because it is a Christian group and I look forward to meeting all my friends each month and enjoying all the various topics presented.”
“I have been a member of Mother Union for many years now. And I have made many friends. I also enjoy the many topics that we have and I look forward to the future with Mothers Union.”
“I have tried to sum up why I joined MU. A way of connecting with and supporting those who I believe share my understanding that children thrive best in a committed and safe family environment.”
“Meeting with other Christian’s that want to make a change in the world. A chance to be part of a global organisation that helps people at a grassroots level.”
“It brings people together to try and solve problems as a community. It helps those that are less fortunate than yourself. It helps those abroad without basic facilities like clean water. It is also about children being looked after and helping to highlight and eradicate child cruelty.”
“I joined to find out more about Mothers Union and what it stood for. Also, for the Christian fellowship.”
