Saturday 2nd December 2017
On Saturday 2nd December, between 10am and 1pm in the church rooms at St. Mary’s Church, there is a coffee morning and Christmas fayre being held where you will have the opportunity to purchase Christmas stocking gifts at reasonable prices. Tables are also available where you can sit down and have a chat with friends and relatives over a cup of coffee or tea. We look forward to seeing you there.
The very popular Christingle service will be held in St. Mary’s Church, Chard on Sunday 24th December. There will be two services, the first at 4pm and the second at 6pm.
Each piece of the Christingle holds special symbolism to help children understand the importance of Jesus and the Gospel and it’s relevance at Christmas time.
- The Orange represents the world
- The red ribbon symbolises the love and blood of Christ
- The sweets and dried fruit represents all of God’s creation
- The lit candle represents Jesus’ light in the world, bringing hope to people living in darkness.
